Unlike other financial institutions which exist to benefit shareholders, CSCU is a not-for-profit cooperative that exists solely to serve its members, the people like you who save and borrow here. Membership is open to anyone who works, resides, worships or attends school in Walker County, as well as TDCJ employees and other select employee groups.

 

 

On April 6, 1954, the Texas Prison Employees Credit Union was chartered. The commitment and dedication of the original 55 charter members brought their vision of a different kind of financial institution to life for Texas prison employees. Over the years, our products and services have changed, as well as our name, to accommodate our growing membership.
