Deposit Insurance with Community Service Credit Union

Recent news of bank failures, may have you asking, "Is my money safe?".   Rest assured, your deposits with CSCU are insured by the federal government to at least $250,000.   Your retirement, IRA funds are insured up to  $250,000.   Additionally, through different account structuring, you are able to obtain insurance above those "at least" limits.  If you would like to have your accounts reviewed, please contact a CSCU representative and we can collect all of your account information and let you know the status.   

As an added service to our depositors, we offer additional private insurance through Excess Share Insurance Company to cover your deposits for $250,000 over and above the federal deposit insurance.

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) is the federal agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions and insures savings in federal and most state-chartered credit unions across the country through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a federal fund backed by the full faith and credit of the United States government.

The increase in the coverage amount by the federal government is effective now, through December 31, 2013.  As insurance hearings are held by the federal government next year, we will keep you informed of any changes to the insurance limits.
