Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need a membership account?

Unlike banks that are open to anyone, credit unions have a “field of membership”, which means you have to be a member in order to access other products and services.  The minimum membership deposit is $5 and this must remain on deposit as long as you are a member.

Can I add more money to my Share/Savings Account?

Yes.  The $5 is just the minimum to get started.  The CSCU savings account is a place to build an emergency fund, vacation fund or simply a source of funds for anything you can dream of.

How do I qualify for membership?

If your work, reside, worship or attend school in Walker, Trinity, Madison, Grimes, Houston or San Jacinto County OR are related to any individual in those groups, you are eligible to apply for membership. See full details on membership.
