CSCU has been part of Huntsville for over 70 years. Here’s how we show up for our neighbors, our schools and our community.
Community is how we got started.
Founded in 1954 by 55 Texas Prison System employees who pooled just over $10,000, CSCU is a not-for-profit cooperative with no shareholders. We return our earnings to members through lower loan rates, fewer fees, higher savings dividends and better service.

Skip-a-pay for the Boys & Girls Club
Through our holiday skip-a-pay program, we donated over $11,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Walker County in 2025.
Angel Tree
Last year, our team delivered Angel Tree gifts, like these at Stewart Elementary. We’re doing it again this year, for three children.
Christmas Coloring Contest
